Zig Zag

ZIG-ZAG is a legendary name in the rolling paper world, represented by the famous symbol of a Zouave on each package. The Zouaves were soldiers who made their fortunes during the Crimean War in the 1850s, climbing rocky cliffs to take their enemies by surprise and win outnumbered battles. Legend has it that a soldier had his pipe broken during a skirmish, leaving him with nothing but the paper from his gunpowder bag to smoke with. He rolled it up and created the world’s first cigarette paper.
ZIG-ZAG honors that legend and that Zouave soldier with a premium line of fine rolling papers that certainly improve upon the old gunpowder paper of lore. Their thirst for improvement started with the famous “interleaving” process by which their papers are easily accessed and stored and has resonated in every product they’ve released since. That’s where the name of the company comes from, in fact: the zig-zag pattern was so outstanding that the company was named after it when it was founded in the late 1800s. Soon after, the brand won a gold medal at the Universal Exposition in Paris, a victory that created the momentum ZIG-ZAG needed to take the name global. It’s since become one of the most widespread rolling paper brands in the world. .
